We study the role of tumor microenvironment on cancer development and treatment
The uncovering of the biological mechanisms that promote cancer resistance to therapy is the main focus of the department. We believe that our fundamental research is key to improve cancer combination treatments by increasing sensitivity and reducing toxicity in normal tissues.
Scientific research of the department is concentrated on tumors of the brain, head and neck, lung, breast, and skin.
The general research focus of the Radiotherapy Department is centralized on improvement of current cancer treatment by different means:
1. Advance cancer therapy responses by adjuvant therapeutic approaches
2. -Reduce therapy associated toxicity to normal tissue
